Using mouthwash is a smart way to round out your oral health regimen. After brushing and flossing, swishing your mouth with mouthwash can help reach areas you might have missed. Mouthwash may also support the health of gums and teeth, and also help to keep your breath fresh.

There are a lot of mouthwash products out there, but not all of them prioritize the use of natural ingredients. If you’re looking for a mouthwash that supports your healthy lifestyle, check out the products below and find the one that is perfect for your mouth!

Mouthwash Products with Natural Ingredients

Mineral Mouth Rinse Mint from Trace Minerals Research contains ionic trace minerals from the Great Salt Lake in Utah. The formula also includes colloidal silver and peppermint essential oils to promote a feeling of clean. Rinse for 30 seconds to help clear out food debris, neutralize odors, and balance acidity levels in the mouth.

Organic Daily Swish Mint from Banyan Botanicals is an Ayurvedic formula made with sesame and coconut oil, triphala fruit, and essential oils from peppermint and spearmint. For best results, swish 1 tablespoon of this formula for up to twenty minutes before spitting to help maintain normal plaque levels and teeth whiteness, and support healthy gums and teeth.

Spry Oral Rinse for Xlear is a grain alcohol formula with mint extracts, aloe vera, and other plant extracts. Use for 30-seconds after brushing for optimal results. You can also try Spry Mouth Wash Alcohol-Free that Xlear labels as containing a “Healing Blend” that may be ideal for people with “bleeding gums, canker sores, or other maladies associated with a sensitive mouth.”

XyliWhite Mouthwash from NOW Foods helps to lift and remove debris from between teeth, balance pH levels, and support the enamel of healthy teeth. This formula contains six essential oils, and extracts from aloe leaf and grapefruit seed. Rinse for 30 seconds after brushing.

Along with mouthwash, make sure you brush for two minutes, twice daily. The Mayo Clinic also advises that there are other changes you should consider that may support the health of your mouth:

  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Avoid acidic foods and drinks.
  • Eat a healthy diet.
  • Replace toothbrushes after 3 to 4 months of use.
  • Make an appointment with your dentist for cleanings and x-rays.

Oral health is said to be an indicator of your overall health. An unhealthy mouth can increase the chances of developing bacterial infections, heart problems, complications during pregnancy, and pneumonia. So make sure you are taking care of your mouth each day and see if that provides the support for your mouth and body you need.
